Before you go
Check ICA entry rules for your passport and submit the SG Arrival Card through the official ICA service within the required window. The SG Arrival Card is free and is not the same thing as a visa.
Your first hour after landing
Changi makes arrivals straightforward: connect to data, follow signs to the MRT, bus, taxi or ride-hailing pickup, and only exchange as much cash as you expect to need. Many travellers can function mostly cashless.
SIM, eSIM and apps
An eSIM before departure gives immediate data. Physical tourist SIMs are also easy to find. Save your hotel address and use the official transport or map apps you prefer for MRT and bus planning.
Money and payments
Cards and contactless payment are widely used, but a little Singapore-dollar cash is still useful for small merchants or as a backup. Always check foreign transaction fees on your own card.
Getting around

Weather and what to pack
Singapore is hot and humid through the year with frequent showers. Pack breathable clothing, sun protection, a small umbrella and a light layer for strongly air-conditioned interiors.

Singapore is orderly and clean, with rules that are actively enforced. Follow signs, queue properly, respect smoke-free areas and be considerate on public transport. If something seems regulated, check rather than assume.
